Mobilizing students: A new Form of Youth Min
We live in a very different world than our grandparents. Somehow, Christianity is no longer at the center of society but has now moved to the fringe. As missionaries in this world, it's our job to know the culture while maintaining strong ties to the kingdom. Let's re-envision our approach to student evangelism in a post-christian world and discover how this can look.

  • 8:45 AM - 9:45 AM

  • Option Session 2

    Jassie Virk
    8:45 AM - 9:45 AM (Room S113)
    Effective Evangelism
I think when most people hear the word "Evangelism" they shudder. The sight of it can give us more bad feelings than good ones. But why? Why should we be scared? The Biblical idea of evangelism has everything to do with bringing good news. Together, we are going to look at what it means to evangelize and how we can be effective in sharing the Gospel with others.
Seminar - How Sharing Leads to Healing   (Library Study Area)
    Levi Fraser
8:45 AM - 9:45 AM (Library Study Area)
    How Sharing Leads to Healing
After a traumatic experience of sexual assault in middle school, I found myself in a very dark place. The routine of living in this darkness led to a pornography addiction and overall a loss of true identity. I have since been freed from this darkness and in this seminar we'll discuss how vulnerability with others and with God in confession can lead to healing.

Pornography is talked, argued, and debated about, but seldom are answers given to what to do about it. This session will give some ideas of moving forward with the issue in every day life.

    Helping Hurting Kids
With abuse and violence on the increase, we find ourselves more frequently facing the deep wounds of betrayed trust, broken relationships, and out-of-control behaviors in the lives of the students we work with. We will look at how to respond to the complexities of kids's lives and explore the dynamics of deep betrayal. The workshop will present a look at a biblically rooted path back toward wholeness, a path that we may have the privilege of walking with a hurting young friend.
